Making for the Challenge: the Woolsh jacket
We have produced a quilted woollen hooded jacket, aimed at the cold climate surfing community. Cold climate surfing is increasing in popularity due to the vast improvements in wetsuit technology, and needs to be supported by cold weather clothing. We have used woven wool, which has been naturally dyed and pre shrunk, this has then been quilted with wool wadding for insulation and lined with a cotton/polyester blend for comfort. The shoulders, hood and top arms have been covered in waterproof soft-‐shell material and the cuffs, neck and bottom of the jacket have been piped for added comfort.
